Meet Joanna!

Hi! I’m a Twin Cities-based therapist and creative who spent 17 years living and working in NYC. If you are fat, funny, queer, brash, bold, thoughtful, anxious, searching, or a little bit “different”, we’ll have a lot in common. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, eating disorders, and life transitions including early adulthood and entering retirement. I work with couples experiencing communication challenges, emotional disconnection, and intimacy issues. Queer, trans, and neurodivergent clients welcome and celebrated!

What it will be like to work with me: my therapeutic philosophy is feminist, multicultural, and existential. I’m a relational therapist, which means I think a large part of the benefit of therapy comes from the relationship we form in session. As a person-centered therapist, our work together will be based on your goals, not mine, and I want to help you find a truer, more vibrant version of yourself. Let’s rewrite your story together.

I’m a graduate of the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of St. Thomas (MA), working under the supervision of Dr. Kristen Stevens, Psy.D., LP of Brave Mental Health.
